One of my favorite places on earth are the Champlain Islands of Vermont. To me this painting portrays the peace, calmness & breathing space of the islands. Pastels are one of my favorite mediums because of the ability to create so many rich & subtle layers to hopefully evoke an emotional response to my art. I used a variety of soft pastels on sanded UArt paper.
