Poppy Fields in California

I moved from Southern California to North Carolina in 2012 and left my half-brother who is also my best friend. He loves going to visit the poppy fields. This year he emailed me some pictures. I started taking comfort in art during the pandemic, especially after my dog passed away. I thought it would be nice to use pastels to draw one of his photos and send it to him. It's being framed right now and then it will be on its way to California as a surprise gift. It's also special because it's my first time doing landscapes. I'm a beginner artist. I just started using soft pastels in November of 2020. This picture means a lot to me and I hope it means a lot to him too.
