This pastel was inspired while on a beach get away in November 2020 during COVID. On an overcast and windy day as I watched the waves tossing about it became a metaphor of the tempest caused by COVID. Back home in my studio I used sketches and photos of that day to recreate that feeling of tempest tossed.
