My painting was inspired by memories of the beautiful Blue Mountains in Australia . I used a homemade surface of pastel primer on matboard to create both texture and tone . I try and use this surface throughout the painting to work for the various stages. I used mainly Terry Ludwig Pastels and Art Spectrum Extra Soft and just a dash of Sennellier Luminiscent pastels on the rocks.
