"On 'Paws'"

Soft pastels on Pastelmat. Working dark to light I build on the composition until done. I decided to use a very dark background instead of a lighter one. I wanted the dramatic feel where the eye and highlights were what you saw. I took a photo of my grand dog when he was looking out the window. My daughter says he's "on pause" as he's so still. I just love the look of concentration.
