Sleeping with the Sandhills

Sleeping with the Sandhills is part of a series of paintings featuring neo-classical images of women combined with birds entitled "A Hollow Boned Muse" The series is descriptive of the fact that at age 64 we are tired of fighting all the issues politically that we have been fighting since our teens, i.e. racism, world hunger, school shootings, womens rights, racial equality. We are tired, and would rather be "Sleeping with the Sandhills".
