Golden Hour

Painted on black Uart 400 grit sanded paper mounted on board; my inspiration came from the stunning shaft of golden light hitting the tall grasses as I took a walk at sunset near our mountain cabin. The challenge was to depict the rich, bright light without losing saturation of color; I also enjoyed depicting the cool greens and violets in the sagebrush; the backlit pine boughs serve as a counterpoint to the shaft of light on the grasses.
