I was inspired to paint this picture after a trip to an alpine lake near our home in Loja, Ecuador. I was impressed with the wide variety of color in this landscape especially the yellows and reds in the grass. It was also a challenge for me because it included both clouds and water neither of which I feel overly confident about.
